Festival Gate
Reports to: works with all Coordinators
Job Purpose: To ensure the greeting of guests, media and volunteers while providing necessary Festival information. Takes tickets and issues wrist bands to patrons. Checks off guests and contest winners on lists provided and issues wrist bands to them.
Qualifications:
- Must provide Criminal Record Check

- Must have the ability to work calmly under pressure
- Have experience or understanding with monetarytransactions
Work setting:
- Outdoors rain or shine
- Standing
Timeframe:
- Friday afternoon to Sunday evening
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The ability to work with little supervision, 3 hour shifts
- Good verbal communication skills and sensitivity to customer needs
- At the beginning and end of each shift record wrist band numbers
- Any damaged wrist bands are too be kept and held with ticket receipts, debit/credit slips
- Record on tally sheet the wrist band number of any wrist bands that are wasted
- Exchanges pre-purchased tickets for wristbands. Reads ticket print out and ensures correct wrist band by date
- Ensures wrist bands are placed on securely; but not too tight or too loose
- Sells entrance tickets at the set prices – cash/debit/credit and provides wrist band
- Comp Tickets held for guests: to be given to those identifying themselves as guests (as much as possible a list or tickets will be provided and are to be exchanged for wrist bands). Wherever possible, individual names will be listed, but in some cases only the band or sponsor’s name will be listed with a number of guests allowed. If the is any discrepancy in the numbers, contact the Volunteer Coordinator.
- Keeps tally of tickets sold, ticket stubs, and summary sheet at the end of shift
- Greets volunteers and media directs them to the ReMax Volunteer Tent
- Communicates with volunteer management team and other coordinators as required
- Communicates any security concerns with gate security and/or security coordinator
- Ensures a safe, clean and friendly environment
- Provides a good impression and enthusiastically answers any questions about the festival
- Understand and complies with the Central Music Fest volunteer regulations and code of ethics
